"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" marks the first time the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel have appeared together on the big-screen, and the team-up has been years in the making.
During that time, the Batman has had three different franchise opportunities to win over fans and prove that he doesn't need a guy in red boots and a cape to help him be awesome. The Caped Crusader can do that all on his own.
