Stan Lee Honored On The Hollywood Walk Of FameJoan Lee, the wife of Marvel Comics legend Stan Lee, died yesterday in Los Angeles at the age of 95. She had been hospitalized for a stroke earlier this week. The couple had been married for 69 years.

A spokesperson for the family said, "I can confirm the sad news that Joan Lee passed away this morning quietly and surrounded by her family. The family ask that you please give them time to grieve and respect their privacy during this difficult time."

Stan Lee created many famous Marvel characters, including Spider-Man, the Hulk, Iron Man, and the X-Men.

Joan Lee was a former British hat model who met Stan on a blind date he was supposed to go on with one of her friends. She was unhappily married at the time to an American soldier she met during World War II. Joan got a quickie divorce in Reno, and in the next room, a judge married Joan and Stan.

Joan apparently inspired Stan to create the Fantastic Four. Later, she did voice work on "The Fantastic Four" TV show and made a cameo in "X-Men: Apocalypse." In 1987, she wrote a novel titled "The Pleasure Palace."
