New Video on Demand, Rental Streaming, and Digital

"The Circle"
Watch Beauty take on the Beast of technology in this thriller co-starring Tom Hanks, John Boyega, Karen Gillan, Patton Oswalt and the late legends Glenne Headly and Bill Paxton. "The Circle," based on the novel by Dave Eggers, arrives on Digital HD this Tuesday July 18, and then on DVD, Blu-ray, and On Demand August 1. The home release includes three featurettes -- one on the making of the film, another looking at the future of technology, and one with Tom Hanks and director James Ponsdolt reminiscing about working with Bill Paxton.

"Niko and the Sword of Light" (Amazon Original)
This Amazon Original kids series follows 10-year-old Niko as he embarks on an epic quest to bring light back to his land. The series, based on an interactive comic book app, premieres on Amazon on July 21."The Gracefield Incident"
In this horror thriller -- arriving on Digital HD, On Demand, and in select theaters July 21 -- a video game editor embeds an iPhone camera into his prosthetic eye to secretly record a weekend with friends in a luxurious mountain cabin. But the weekend takes a terrifying turn when a meteorite crashes the party. Hate when that happens!"Residue"
This supernatural thriller -- on VOD and iTunes July 18 -- follows a private investigator who ends up with a book of sinister origins, unaware that it's a valuable supernatural artifact. As he's pursued by criminals who want the book for their own agendas, the book's evil begins to take root in the PI's life.

New on DVD and Blu-ray

"Kong: Skull Island"
It's officially Brie Larson week on DVD and Blu-ray, between "Kong" and "Free Fire" (below). In this box office and critical hit, a team of scientists and Vietnam War soldiers travel to an uncharted Pacific island and encounter the mighty Kong. Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, John C. Reilly, John Goodman, and Corey Hawkins co-star in the action-adventure, which arrives on DVD and Blu-ray July 18. The home release comes with several extras -- director's commentary, deleted scenes, and seven behind-the-scenes featurettes, including "Tom Hiddleston: The Intrepid Traveler" and "Through the Lens: Brie Larson's Photography."

"Free Fire"
This wild thriller won the People's Choice Award for Midnight Madness at the Toronto Film Festival. Like "Kong," it is also set in the 1970s, following an arms deal that goes explosively wrong. This time, Brie Larson is joined by Sharlto Copley, Armie Hammer, Cillian Murphy, and Jack Reynor, and you can watch them in action when "Free Fire" arrives on Blu-ray and DVD July 18. Extras include audio commentary with co-writer/director Ben Wheatley, and a featurette looking at the making of the film.

"Tommy's Honour"
Peter Mullan and Jack Lowden play father-son golf champions who grow together in their fame, fortune, and misfortune in this inspirational true story arriving on DVD July 18. Sam Neill co-stars in the historical drama, which won Best Feature Film at the 2016 British Academy Scotland Awards. The DVD comes with a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film.

"The 100: The Complete Fourth Season"
The end of the world just keeps getting harder for the survivors of "The 100," and you can watch them fight through 13 episodes of The CW show when Season 4 arrives on DVD July 18. The extensive bonus features include a gag reel, behind-the-scenes featurettes, and deleted scenes.

New on Netflix

"Ozark" Season 1 (Netflix Original)Netflix favors dropping originals on Fridays (perfect for weekend binge-watching!) and you should keep an eye out for this original film, arriving July 21. "The Byrdes, husband and wife Marty (Jason Bateman) and Wendy (Laura Linney), their teenage kids Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner) -- are for all intents and purposes an ordinary family. Ordinary save for Marty's job: The top money launderer for the second largest drug cartel in Mexico."

"Last Chance U" Season 2 (Netflix Original)Did you see "Last Chance U" Season 1? If not, consider a binge. If so, you'll be ready for Season 2, which will be ready for you on July 21: "The award-winning documentary series is back in season. Last Chance U follows new players on a quest for redemption on the field, in the classroom and in life."

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story"
Perhaps you've heard of this little rebel? The Star Wars standalone blockbuster will be ready for your streaming pleasure on July 18.

"Pretty Little Liars" Season 7B
All the answers you're ever gonna get are in the second half of the final season of PLL, which will arrive on Netflix July 20. Watch every episode closely to look for clues, or just accept that you'll probably never be satisfied with all of the reveals.

TV Worth Watching

"Loaded" (Monday on AMC at 10 p.m.)
AMC's new series, a co-production with the U.K.'s Channel 4, follows four guys (Jim Howick, Samuel Anderson, Jonny Sweet, and Nick Helm) who sell their start-up video game company to a new boss (Mary McCormack), and their lives change overnight. The eight episode series premieres July 17 with "Lawsuit." Here's the synopsis: "Four friends become tech millionaires after selling their hit iPhone game 'Cat Factory.'''

"Insecure" (Sunday on HBO at 10:30 p.m.)
"Ballers" and "Insecure" are both premiering their new seasons this Sunday, after "Game of Thrones." Season 1 of Issa Rae's breakout comedy starts with "Hella Great," with this synopsis from HBO: "Issa struggles in the aftermath of her breakup with Lawrence, while facing challenges at a new work assignment; Molly questions her worth at work; Lawrence adjusts to his new living arrangement."

"Raven's Home" (Friday on Disney Channel at 10 p.m.)
Raven's back! Raven-Symoné returns as Raven Baxter for this "That's So Raven" spinoff sequel following her family, including a son who inherited her powers. The sitcom starts with "Baxter's Back!" Friday at 10 p.m., following the premiere of "Descendents 2" -- which will air at 8 p.m. on five channels simultaneously: Disney Channel, ABC, Disney XD, Freeform, and Lifetime.
