The "Room" star has been the frontrunner for most of awards season, scoring her first nomination and win for the compelling drama, which was also nominated for Best Picture.
The other nominees in the category were: Cate Blanchett for "Carol," Jennifer Lawrence for "Joy," Charlotte Rampling for "45 Years," and Saoirse Ronan in "Brooklyn."
Larson will next be seen in 2017's "Kong: Skull Island."
