In the trailer, which AMC debuted at Comic-Con, the main characters scattered to the wind. While Madison (Kim Dickens), Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey), and Strand (Colman Domingo) seek safe shelter in a hotel, Nick (Frank Dillane) wanders on his own and runs into a violent gang. Meanwhile, Travis (Cliff Curtis) is still on the road with his psychopath of a son. The trailer also shows a change in locale, as the survivors head to Mexico.
The cast has teased some "big deaths" and deeper explorations of the characters as season 2 continues. And with the survivors splitting off from each other, we can expect them to run into new people — some of whom they'd be better off not meeting.
"Fear the Walking Dead" returns Sunday, Aug. 21 at 9 p.m. on AMC.
