Nicholas Digs Himself a New Hole With Glenn in 'Walking Dead' Deleted Scene

The last words Nicholas (Michael Traynor) ever said on "The Walking Dead" Season 6 became the title of Episode 3, "Thank You." He says them again, also to Glenn (Steven Yeun), in this deleted scene from the Season 6 Blu-ray/DVD, which comes out August 23.

Nicholas's death happened to help Glenn out of a tight spot, although it's hard to imagine Nicholas -- being Nicholas -- really saw that Dumpster slide happening, since it was more of a Glenn ingenuity thing than Nicholas seeing the way out. But Nicholas ending his own life did give Glenn a chance, and that seemed to be his intention.

Anyway, Nicholas has a bit more to say in this deleted scene, posted by Entertainment Weekly. It's set before Glenn and Nicholas's little ill-fated adventure, while they are with a larger Alexandria group, digging ditches. Nicholas approaches Glenn to thank him for not telling everyone that he tried to kill him. Nicholas wants it to mean something and Glenn says he'll give it some thought. Then he tells Nicholas to start digging. Maybe it's a metaphor for Nicholas digging himself out of his hole, or for digging himself deeper. Either way, it shows that Nicholas was basically Glenn's new puppy.

The Season 6 DVD/Blu-ray packages have multiple cool covers and will include other deleted scenes, episode commentaries, and making-of featurettes. The Blu-ray also includes an alternate Negan scene.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 premieres Sunday, October 23 on AMC.
