ABC Cancels 'Last Man Standing,' and the Angry Tweets Roll In

ABC's 'Last Man Standing' - Season SixAfter six seasons, "Last Man Standing" is, well, no longer standing.

When it came to deciding whether to renew the Tim Allen-starring sitcom, ABC decided against it, Deadline reports. Needless to say, dedicated fans who have stuck with the series over the years were not happy and were quick to express their displeasure on Twitter. The news was obviously hard to hear, perhaps all the more so because the show had so often been renewed off the bubble in the past.

Over the course of the 22-episode sixth season, the show drew solid numbers in spite of its Friday night time slot. In fact, "Last Man Standing" hit ratings highs before concluding with its March 31 finale. Alas, that was not enough to save it; ABC and 20th Century Fox TV, the show's producing studio, were reportedly at odds over the license fee, so ABC let it go.

In theory, it seems possible that "Last Man Standing" could get new life somewhere else, but 20th Century Fox TV would have to find a taker first. At least for now, fans are mourning ABC's decision on Twitter.

Their responses cover literally every stage of grief. We get it: It's hard to say goodbye.
