'Aquaman' Early Test Screening: Fans Reportedly 'Loved' Action-Packed, 'Emotional' Film

Then again ... there were similar positive early reactions to "Batman v Superman," Suicide Squad" and "Justice League."

DC fans still have high hopes for director James Wan's "Aquaman," which stars Jason Momoa and Amber Heard, and arrives in theaters December 21. That's a long way from February, and we know there's still a lot of work to be done. But Batman-News revealed an early test screening just took place, and got an initial positive response:

But this is James Wan, director of "Saw," "Furious 7," and "The Conjuring." He's a new face on the landscape, and that worked out well with Patty Jenkins and DC's "Wonder Woman," so there's still hope that he'll bring a welcome fresh perspective to the DCEU.

"Aquaman" wrapped filming back in October. After "Justice League" came out in November, introducing Atlantis, James Wan reassured fans that there would be no "air bubbles for dialogue" in his movie. "Aquaman" is scheduled for release December 21st, 2018.
