Looks Like 'Grey's Anatomy' May Lose Another Doctor in Season 14

This show drops docs as often as it loses patients.

"Grey's Anatomy" Season 14 is halfway through its 24-episode season, with Episode 13 airing next on Thursday, March 1. Every year, new faces come and go, and it sounds like we might already be losing one of the new interns.

Jeanine Mason plays Sam Bello, one of the six interns introduced early in Season 14. She also just picked up the lead role in The CW's "Roswell" reboot, playing the new Liz (played in the original series by Shiri Appleby).

If "Roswell" is picked up to series by The CW, that will most likely mean The End for Sam on "Grey's" -- hopefully not a deadly end, but at least a goodbye. And, considering the timing, that end may come before Season 14 is out. We'll see.

While two of the new Grey Sloan interns have already slept with Jo Wilson and April Kepner -- and a third is way into Jackson Avery -- Sam has been busy rekindling an old relationship with Andrew DeLuca. We thought "Grey's" had big plans for Sam and DeLuca as a couple to watch going forward, but ... maybe not?

The reimagined "Roswell" is being written by "The Originals" writer Carina Adly MacKenzie and directed by Julie Plec.

Here's the synopsis from Deadline:

"Reluctantly returning to her tourist-trap hometown of Roswell, New Mexico, Liz Ortecho (Mason), a jaded biomedical researcher and the daughter of undocumented immigrants, is haunted by a tragic incident. She discovers a shocking truth about her teenage crush who is now a police officer: He's an alien who has kept his unearthly abilities hidden his entire life. She protects his secret as the two reconnect and begin to investigate his origins, but when a violent attack and long-standing government cover-up point to a greater alien presence on Earth, the politics of fear and hatred threaten to expose him and destroy their deepening romance."

Mason, Plec, and MacKenzie have been tweeting their excitement for the New Mexico project. If you'll recall, "Grey's" OG Katherine Heigl was also part of the original "Roswell" cast, so there's some "Grey's" synergy at work.

"Grey's Anatomy" returns Thursday, March 1 at 8 p.m. on ABC.
