'Penny Dreadful' Season 2 Trailer Is a Blood Bath

"When Lucifer fell, he did not fall alone."



Those chilling words close out the new trailer for season 2 of Showtime's "Penny Dreadful." They're preceded by equally spine-tingling images, of Eva Green's Vanessa Ives wandering desolate moors and breathing heavily as she stares, horrified, at some oncoming danger.



But the most striking image is of Helen McCrory's Madame Kali aka Evelyn Poole, this year's big bad. She's lounging in a bathtub filled with blood - how very Countess Elizabeth Bathory of her.



"Penny Dreadful" returns April 26 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
