TVLine reports that newcomer Violett Beane will be joining the show as Jesse Quick, the alter ego of Jesse Chambers, who's described as "a heroine with super-speed powers." According to TVLine, Beane is set to appear in multiple episodes, and her character is "a brilliant but quirky college student who gets caught up in the battle between The Flash and Season 2 Big Bad (the not-yet-cast) Zoom."
Not much is known about Beane, who only has two IMDb credits to her name, though she recently co-starred in the indie comedy "Slash" alongside Michael Ian Black. Black is a longtime friend of current "Flash" star Tom Cavanagh (they starred together on NBC series "Ed" back in the early 2000s); perhaps that connection is how Beane became involved with the CW show?
Fans will get a chance to see the actress in action soon, when "The Flash" returns for its second season on October 6.
