Jordan Peele Signs With Universal For Post-'Get Out' Movies

Screening Of Universal Pictures' 'Get Out' - ArrivalsFresh off the mega-success of his first movie "Get Out," Jordan Peele is getting into a lucrative deal with Universal for his next films.

The studio has signed a two-year, first-look deal with Peele's Monkeypaw Productions company, according to The Hollywood Reporter. That means it will have dibs on Peele's next movie, an untitled social thriller he will write, direct, and produce. And he can expand his vision, as the budget will be five times bigger than that of "Get Out," which Peele produced with Jason Blum.

"I am thrilled to continue the work we started together on 'Get Out' — pushing the boundaries of storytelling, not only on the next film but with all of Monkeypaw's future projects," Peele said.

Peele wrote and directed "Get Out," which had a $5 million budget. It went on to earn over $172 million at the box office.

Peele will produce other projects, as well, with an aim to give opportunities to underrepresented voices in front of and behind the camera, be it race, gender, or sexual orientation. He will also continue teaming up with Blum on micro-budget movies.
