Jordan Peele Is Producing a 'Noir' Nazi-Hunting Drama For Amazon

Jordan PeeleYes, Jordan Peele is prepping his next horror film, "Us." (Huzzah!) But the busy "Get Out" Oscar winner is also executive-producing a series about Nazi hunters for Amazon.

Amazon Studios has ordered 10 episodes of "The Hunt," which is set in 1977 New York City. (We're thinking "Marathon Man" meets "The Boys from Brazil.") A group that call themselves The Hunters have discovered hundreds of high ranking Nazi officials who are conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in the U.S.

"When [series creator] David Weil first shared 'The Hunt' with me, I immediately knew that we had to be involved," Peele told Deadline. "It's cathartic. It''s noir. It's frighteningly relevant. It's exactly what I want to see on television. I am thrilled to be working with Amazon in bringing this incredible vision to the world."

This is the first new scripted series approved by Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke: "Our biggest priority is attracting exceptional writing and producing talent to bring addictive, groundbreaking projects to Prime Video," said Salke. "The Hunt is edge-of-your seat entertainment that is not only culturally relevant but deliciously original. David Weil, Jordan Peele, and the entire Monkeypaw and Sonar Entertainment teams represent the dream team! We can't wait to get started!"

Although no release date has yet been announced, it will be on Amazon Prime. (A nice adjunct to existing alternate history series "The Man in the High Castle," in which the Axis powers, not the Allies, won World War II.)
