That 'Deadpool 2' Major Cameo Star Had a Specific Demand for Ryan Reynolds

SPOILERS AHEAD FROM "DEADPOOL 2"

There are so many in-jokes and pop culture references in "Deadpool 2" that some of the cameos may have been lost to the audience. One definitely made an impression, as it was supposed to: Brad Pitt showed up. He was very briefly around as X-Force recruit the Vanisher -- who is invisible right up until he's about to die.

Screenwriter Paul Wernick told The Hollywood Reporter that Vanisher wasn't in the original script, but when they did decide to pop him in, they figured it was the perfect idea for a celebrity cameo.

"And then we thought, 'Who is the hardest get in Hollywood? Let's call him.'"

Ryan Reynolds reached out personally to Brad Pitt, whose kids apparently loved the first "Deadpool" movie.

"He immediately said yes," Wernick told THR. "It was a pinch-me moment."

However, co-writer Rhett Reese told Yahoo Entertainment there was a string attached before Pitt would agree to the cameo:

"He said 'I want a hand-delivered Starbucks coffee from Ryan Reynolds himself."

Director David Leitch added, "I think it was a double-wet cappuccino."

Of course it was. But it sounds like the actual coffee errand was anticlimactic.

"On the day, Ryan delivered it, and Brad had kind of forgotten about it," Reese told Yahoo. "He gets this coffee and goes, 'Oh my God. I forgot I asked for that.'"

'Allied' UK Premiere - LondonAccording to CinemaBlend, they shot the whole cameo in about half an hour, so there was barely even time to enjoy the coffee:

Rhett Reese: We shot in about a half an hour. It was quite a production. It was like a full crew for a half an hour, and Brad agreed to do it for scale, plus a cup of coffee. And then he was really specific about the coffee - said, 'I want this exact coffee from Starbucks, and, Ryan, I want you to deliver it to me.'

Paul Wernick: And Ryan did deliver it!

Rhett Reese: We got the coffee, Ryan came in and gave it to him. It was hilarious because he kind of forgotten that he asked for it. It was really funny. And then we shot it in about a half an hour.

Brad Pitt's cameo was "for scale," in this case under $1,000. His appearance was meant to be an obvious joke, but did you know his "Oceans Eleven" costar and buddy Matt Damon is also in the movie?

According to Yahoo, no screening attendees before the film's release noticed the "heavily made-up" Damon, who "appears alongside Alan Tudyk as a redneck whose toilet paper manifesto is interrupted by a time-traveling Cable (Josh Brolin)." Damon is even listed in the credits as Dickie Greenleaf, his character's name in "The Talented Mr. Ripley."

Now you know to look for him, when you watch the movie again.

Between "Deadpool 2" and "Thor: Ragnarok," Matt Damon is building himself quite a celebrity cameo resume. Jimmy Kimmel must be appalled.
