'Jurassic World' Sequels Are Pretty Much Invevitable

jurassic world sequelsDinosaurs aren't going extinct anytime soon -- at least on the big screen.

The upcoming "Jurassic World" will be a potential launching pad for further sequels in the hit franchise, said director Colin Trevorrow.

"We definitely talked about [sequels] a lot. We wanted to create something that would be a little bit less arbitrary and episodic, and something that could potentially arc into a series that would feel like a complete story," he told Empire.

Rebooting trilogies seems to be all the rage these days (a la "Star Wars"), so sure -- why not do the same for the "Jurassic Park" franchise?

Trevorrow revealed that certain characters were written to possibly appear in future films. One is Omar Sy's character, who is the best friend of Chris Pratt's ex-military protagonist. "They work together and have some pretty cool action scenes together," the directed teased. "I wanted to create a relationship there that could be memorable and potentially carry on to future films."

Sounds like at least one person escapes the velociraptors!
