'The Shield' Actor Michael Jace Charged With Murdering His Wife

Actor Michael Jace, best known as Det. Julien Lowe on "The Shield," has been arrested for shooting and killing his wife, April.



Jace called the Los Angeles police himself Monday night. "I shot my wife," he told them. Sources told TMZ that he shot April in front of their two young children.



"At this moment the motive of the murder is believed to be domestic violence," a police news release said.



Jace is a veteran actor with over two decades experience working in Hollywood. He spent six years on "The Shield," with his character starting out as a rookie cop and ending up a detective. After "The Shield" ended in 2008, he went on to another police drama, "Southland." He's also had roles in "CSI," "The Mentalist," "Nikita," and "Rizzoli and Isles."
