Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) is a well-meaning father, loyal husband, nearly-perfect son, amateur inventor, and all-around amazing guy. His "Phil's-osophies" are almost as legendary as his spectacular puns. When he's not doling out fatherly advice, he's making pop-culture references that send Tumblr into a tailspin. So it's no wonder he's near (or at) the top of every "Modern Family" fan's list of favorite characters.
