Michael Shannon and Kevin Spacey Are 'Elvis and Nixon' in Wild Comedy Trailer

Kevin Spacey must love playing troubled presidents. He's Frank Underwood on "House of Cards," and now he's Richard Nixon in "Elvis & Nixon," a comedy opening this April with Michael Shannon as Elvis Presley.

The first trailer was just released, and even though it's very tongue-in-cheek it purports to be "the untold true story" behind the December 21, 1970, meeting between the King of Rock 'n Roll and President Nixon. That meeting resulted in (seriously?) the most requested photograph in the National Archives.

Here's the trailer:

Never would've imagined Michael Shannon as Elvis, but that guy can do anything. This thing looks like it will either be a comedy classic or a major miss, but it attracted a lot of stars, so it has potential. The cast includes Evan Peters, Colin Hanks, Ashley Benson, Tate Donovan, and Alex Pettyfer. Amazon Studios and Bleecker Street have scheduled the movie for an April 15 release.
