That scoop came from author Eric Van Lustbader, who took over the Boune series from Robert Ludlum. The author posted this news on Facebook, then deleted it:
BREAKING NEWS! The first trailer for the new Bourne film will be shown during this year's Superbowl telecast. At that time I believe you'll find out the title of the film. (I know it, but I'm sworn to secrecy). So tune in on February 7th to check out all the excitement. I, for one, can't wait!!!
Not sure why he removed that post, unless he was asked to. Previous to that, he wrote on January 18 that "My new Jason Bourne novel, due out in June will, indeed, be called 'The Bourne Enigma.'" There are currently 12 books in the Bourne series, and any one of the unused titles could end up the title of "Bourne 5."
"Bourne" isn't the only film expected to make good use of the massive TV showcase that is the Super Bowl. The Hollywood Reporter shared a rundown of studios expected to promote upcoming titles.
"Deadpool" will have a major presence, they said, as Ryan Reynolds's film hits theaters next week. THR said the cast of "Independence Day: Resurgence" -- including Liam Hemsworth and Jeff Goldblum -- will be at the Super Bowl, and events are planned for that movie, plus "X-Men: Apocalypse" and "Eddie the Eagle."
THR said Paramount will advertise "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" during the game. Sources told the site Disney may also promote multiple titles, along they didn't say which ones. The options include "The Jungle Book," "Captain America: Civil War," "Zootopia," "Alice Through the Looking Glass," "Finding Dory," and "Rogue One." In addition to giving us at least the "Bourne" title, THR said Universal may also promote "The Huntsman's Winter War" and "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising."
Basically, keep your eyes open for all kinds of movie trailers, amid the sea of Budweiser ads. And this is your last chance to throw down an official guess for the title of "Bourne 5," which is meant to follow "Bourne through an austerity-riddled Europe and in a post-Snowden world."
