TNT Cancels 'The Librarians' After Four Seasons

The Librarians Ep 309 - "And the Fatal Separation" ph: Scott Patrick Green 7/29/16TNT is closing the book on "The Librarians."

The cable network is canceling the fantasy drama series, which recently ended its fourth season on February 7. Creator Dean Devlin announced the news on Twitter, adding that he's hoping to shop the show to other outlets:

"The Librarians" began as a TV movie in 2004. Noah Wyle starred as a librarian at the Metropolitan Public Library who soon discovers that the building houses ancient magical artifacts. Two more movies came out in 2006 and 2008.

TNT then spun it off into a series in 2014 starring Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Harlan Kim, and John Larroquette , with Wyle appearing on a recurring basis.

While "The Librarians" was never a huge hit for TNT, it was a solid performer. But it seems like TNT is doing a bit of an overhaul of its lineup. The network also saw the end of "Major Crimes" and word is that "The Last Ship" will depart for one last time this summer.
