After months of waiting, fans of beloved '90s sitcom "Boy Meets World" finally have their first glimpse of the continuing adventures of Cory Matthews and family with a new trailer for "Girl Meets World."
"Girl" focuses on Riley (Rowen Blanchard), the daughter of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel). And while there will be plenty of callbacks to the original series -- including a cute bit of dialogue between Riley and Cory that references "[her] father's world" -- the new Disney show is all about Riley navigating through adolescence with her BFF (and Shawn Hunter stand-in) Maya (Sabrina Carpenter).
The new clip introduces Riley and Maya (and re-introduces Cory and Topanga), and seems to copy the tone of "Boy Meets World" to a T. Whether that will please fans who grew up watching "Boy" remains to be seen (after all, the show was aimed squarely at kids for much of its run), but it should appeal to the new generation that "Girl" is hoping to court.
Check out the promo -- which features Maya persuading Riley to get into some trouble, just like Shawn (Rider Strong) would encourage Cory back in the day -- and just try to temper your excitement to see Mr. Feeny (William Daniels) in the pilot.
There's no specific premiere date yet, but "Girl Meets World" will make its debut on the Disney Channel this summer.
