What's New on TV, Netflix Streaming, Digital, and DVD/Blu-ray This Week: December 7-13

At a loss for what to watch this week? From new DVDs and Blu-rays, to what's streaming on Netflix, we've got you covered.

New on DVD and Blu-ray

"Ant-Man"
You can bring Paul Rudd's Marvel hero home on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD on December 8. Here are all the bonus materials that come with the Blu-ray (and Digital HD, which is already out): "Making Of An Ant-Sized Heist: A How-To Guide," "Let's Go To The Macroverse," "WHIH NewsFront," deleted and extended scenes, and audio commentary by Peyton Reed and Paul Rudd. The one-disc DVD just has deleted scenes.

"Minions"
The "Despicable" little yellow guys are finally hitting DVD, Blu-ray and On Demand on December 8. You get tons of extras with this Blu-ray release, too, including three all new original mini movies; a deleted scene; an interactive map; a "Behind the Goggles" look at the history of the Minions; tons of behind-the-scenes looks at how the movie was made -- from the art department and sounds to special effects -- and more. The DVD release comes with a deleted scene, "Jingle Bells Minion Style," and "The Secret Life of Pets" theatrical trailer.

New Video on Demand, Rental Streaming, and Digital Only

"Transparent" (Amazon)Jeffrey Tambor returns to his Emmy and Golden Globe-winning role of Maura in Amazon's hit original series about the crazy, emotional, uber-dramatic Pfefferman family. The Season 2 premiere was released early for Amazon Prime members, but the full second season officially debuts Friday, December 11.

"Hitman: Agent 47"
Rupert Friend ("Homeland") and Zachary Quinto ("Star Trek") star in this action thriller based on the video game franchise. The movie is out on Digital HD (iTunes, Vudu, Amazon, etc) on December 11, with the Blu-ray and DVD to follow on December 29.

"The Intern"
Robert De Niro takes a late-in-life internship at Anne Hathaway's company in this Nancy Meyers comedy, which has its Digital HD release on December 8. You'll have to wait until December 29 for the discs to come out.

New on Netflix

"The Adventures of Puss in Boots"
DreamWorks Animation is releasing Season 2 of "The Adventures of Puss in Boots" this Friday, December 11 on Netflix. The world's greatest swordfighter returns for more swashbuckling fun as he charms beautiful Dulcinea, a gleeful naïve kitty with a heart of gold, and defends his new friends after accidentally breaking a magic spell protecting them from thieving villains. (Oops.)

"The Ridiculous 6"
Adam Sandler's satire of Westerns -- "The Magnificent Seven," in particular -- has its worldwide release December 11 on Netflix. The comedy film stars Will Forte, Taylor Lautner, Steve Buscemi, Danny Trejo, Terry Crews, Luke Wilson, Nick Nolte, Rob Schneider, Jorge Garcia, and (of course) Adam Sandler.

TV Worth Watching

"Scream Queens" (Tuesday on Fox at 8 p.m.)It's time to unmask the Red Devil(s?) in the special two-hour finale of "Scream Queens" Season 1. In "Dorkus"/"The Final Girl(s)," shocking confessions are made and the killer is revealed. So spray yourself with some Chanel No. 5 and watch to see which Chanels survive and which ones might be devil's advocates.

"Toy Story 20th Anniversary Special" (Thursday on ABC at 8 p.m.)
To infinity and beyond! ABC is airing a tribute to Pixar's "Toy Story" at 8 p.m. on December 10, followed at 9 p.m. by an airing of the movie itself. The special will look at how Pixar's early beginnings making short, digitally-animated films led them to make the first feature-length computer animated film. Producers, animators, technical artists, designers, and some of the "Toy Story" voice talent will discuss making the film and the impact it has had over the years, spawning two sequels, with a new installment, "Toy Story 4," on the way.

"The Vampire Diaries" (Thursday on The CW at 8 p.m.)
A ton of midseason finales are airing this week, including TVD Season 7's final episode of 2015, "Cold As Ice." Prepare yourself for some Christmas carnage. Here's the trailer:
