'Game of Thrones' Season 7's 'Eastwatch' Squad Inspired Some Magnificent Memes

You can call them The Wild Bunch. The Magnificent Seven. The Suicide Squad. The Avengers. The Fellowship of the Wight.

"Game of Thrones" fans had a lot of fond titles for the seven leds bravely heading beyond The Wall, led by King Jon Snow himself. They just started their journey at the end of Season 7, Episode 5, "Eastwatch," and we won't see how it goes until this Sunday's Aug. 20 Episode 6.

But since they got to close out Episode 5 with that amazing squad shot -- reminiscent of so many male bonding Westerns or Rat Pack adventures -- fans honored them with some fresh memes:

(If this is "Reservoir Dogs," Jon Snow has to be Mr. White, right? Or would it be, ahem, Mr. Wight?)

For the record, "Eastwatch" director Matt Shakman told The Hollywood Reporter:

"We kept referring to it as the Wild Bunch, and I even tried to put a direct homage [to director Sam Peckinpah] as they walk off in their phalanx out into the blizzard. It's meant to evoke that image of the Wild Bunch walking into town before the big shoot-'em-up begins. I love all of those characters, and all of those actors are fantastic. Getting them in the same room together for that jail cell scene was a dream come true."

Don't miss what happens to these brave fools in the penultimate episode of Season 7, airing Aug. 20 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
