Now You Can Watch The 'Girl Meets World' Opening Credits

We knew "Girl Meets World," the upcoming spinoff of classic ABC series "Boy Meets World," would feature a bunch of references to the original show (hello, Cory, Topanga, and Mr. Feeny!), and now the show's opening credits are getting in on the nostalgia action.

Disney just released a clip of the show's credits and new theme song, and there are a plenty of Easter eggs for longtime fans of "Boy," including a quick shot of Topanga (Danielle Fishel) sporting the same crimped hair, choker, and babydoll dress look she used to rock as a middle schooler. The credits' graphics also have some fun mimicking their predecessor, with a paper airplane zooming through several shots that harkens back to a similar gimmick used for "Boy." Even the logos for both shows are alike (the titular characters are supposed to meet the world, after all).

The theme song is fun, too. It's bouncy and hopeful and seemingly very fitting for the youthful audience (and maybe some twenty- and thirty-somethings looking to relive a childhood favorite) that the show is trying to court. All in all, we're pleased that Disney seems to be making a concerted effort to make both groups happy, and are looking forward to seeing how the continuing saga of the next generation of the Matthews family plays out.

"Girl Meets World" stars Rowen Blanchard, Sabrina Carpenter, Peyton Meyer, August Maturo, Ben Savage, and Danielle Fishel. The show premieres on the Disney Channel on June 27. You can watch the first few episodes on Disney's WATCH Disney Channel streaming service tomorrow, May 21.
