The annual Television Critics Association press tour kicked off today with Netflix at the podium, and the streaming service certainly had a lot to say about their coming year.
Netflix's chief content officer Ted Sarandos boasted that they'll offer 475 hours of original programming this year, including their hit, acclaimed shows "House of Cards" and "Orange Is the New Black." And they've got high-profile series yet to debut from big names like Aziz Ansari and Marvel.
Here's a roundup of all the Netflix news from TCA today:
- Ansari's show will be titled "Master of None" and debut Nov. 6.
- "Longmire," the former A&E drama that was canceled, will air its fourth season Sept. 10.
- Oscar-winning director Morgan Neville is filming "Keith Richards: Under the Influence," about the iconic rock star, for a Sept. 18 premiere date.
- "Bojack Horseman" has been renewed for a third season.
- There will be a Marvel series approximately every six months. This includes "Jessica Jones" and "Luke Cage," and will culminate in a "Defenders" show.
- Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are still "teetering" on whether they'll appear in the "Fuller House" spinoff.
- "We are plugging along," on another "Arrested Development" season, Sarandos said. "It's a very long complex deal to make with these guys."
- Despite "Pixel" bombing at the box office this past weekend, Netflix is "thrilled" to have signed Adam Sandler to a multi-picture deal.
