Valerie Harper Rushed to Hospital Mid-Performance

American Lung Association's LUNG FORCE Launches Its Share Your Voice Initiative In NYCClassic sitcom actress Valerie Harper was rushed to the hospital last night in Maine in the middle of a performance of "Nice Work If You Can Get It."

AS ET reports, the 75-year-old actress, who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in 2013, an ambulance was called to the Ogunquit Playhouse to take her to a nearby hospital. The musical's artistic director announced to the audience that Harper had fallen ill, but "she wants all of you to know after some fluids and rest she hopes to be right back here on stage later this week."

However, a source told ET that the situation "doesn't look good" and a crew member said that Harper had been ill all week.

The beloved star of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Rhoda," and "Valerie" beat lung cancer in 2009, only to get diagnosed with a rare form of terminal brain cancer a few years later.

In May, she told People that she was "feeling good" and that the cancer wasn't progressing. But she also said, "I'm ready to go."

"We don't know what's around the corner," she added. "I think you just take each day and get the best out of it and do what you can and have fun."
