Who knew Andrew Lincoln was so eager for zombie porn?
"The Walking Dead" Season 8 will air its big midseason finale this Sunday, Dec. 10. Last week's Episode 7 featured Rick Grimes being sexually harassed, again, by Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) with Rick ultimately held captive in her junkyard, wearing only his boxer shorts.
Lincoln and McIntosh talked about the "curious fascination" and "strange frisson" between Rick and Jadis in a new behind-the-scenes video from AMC.
Lincoln wanted to take the scene to a sexy rom-com level, with a sudden appearance from Rick's lady love, Michonne (Danai Gurira):
"My first question when I read the episode. I said to [showrunner Scott Gimple], 'Surely Michonne comes to save Rick and sees him naked and he says, 'It's not what it looks like!' I wanted that scene!"
Nice. Lincoln added that he was totally "in for" Rick's "naked smackdown" fight, even though he wasn't allowed to really be naked:
"So I got to sort of wrestle in boxer shorts all day. It was a really fun fight. And I was desperate to be naked. But they wouldn't let me be naked. I did one take I said, 'Please, with just the cowboy boots. Let's do that.' And for some reason, AMC weren't particularly comfortable with that."
Oh, AMC, you killjoys!
Co-executive producer Denise Huth added, "Andy, bless him, he loves to get down and dirty and do all these fights and battles and make it look as cool as possible."
