Danny Masterson Fired From Netflix's 'The Ranch' Amid Rape Allegations

Premiere Of Blue Fox Entertainment's 'Big Bear' - ArrivalsActor Danny Masterson has been fired from the Netflix comedy "The Ranch" in the wake of several rape allegations against him.

"As a result of ongoing discussions, Netflix and the producers have written Danny Masterson out of 'The Ranch,'" a Netflix spokesperson said. "Yesterday was his last day on the show, and production will resume in early 2018 without him."

Four women have accused Masterson of raping them, and Los Angeles police are currently investigating.

"The Ranch" stars Ashton Kutcher, Sam Elliott, Debra Winger, and Masterson as members of a dysfunctional ranching family in Colorado. Masterson will still appear in the second half of Season 2, which is set to premiere December 15 on the streaming service, and possibly in some episodes of Season 3 as he's written out.

Masterson's firing comes a day after The Huffington Post published a scathing report that Andy Yeatman, Netflix's director of global kids content, unknowingly told one of Masterson's accusers that the company didn't believe the allegations against the actor.

Netflix called his remarks "careless, uninformed, and do not represent the views of the company," and said "we are following the current investigation, and will respond if developments occur."

Some have criticized the company for being slow to act in this matter, even though it quickly shut down production on "House of Cards" after sexual misconduct allegations were made against Kevin Spacey. Netflix recently announced that the drama would return to production without Spacey and would write out his lead character.
