Marvel's 'Jessica Jones' Finally Got a Season 2 Release Date & Teaser

There she is! And with great power comes a great Spider-Man reference.

Netflix finally released the return date for Krysten Ritter's wise-a** Marvel detective. "Jessica Jones" Season 1 premiered back in November 2015. Season 2's 13 episodes will arrive on March 8, 2018.

The streaming service announced the date, along with a Season 2 teaser, over the weekend:"Jessica Jones" is one of Netflix's Marvel Cinematic Universe series along with "Daredevil," "Luke Cage," and "Iron Fist," culminating in "The Defenders," which came out in August 2017. A spinoff, "The Punisher," also recently debuted on Netflix.

Krysten Ritter told Entertainment Weekly:

"I think Jessica is in a pretty dark headspace when we meet her at the top of Season 2. 'The Defenders' took place over the course of, like, a minute — well, it was a week long — so that was like a blip in time, and we didn't focus too much on it."

It was recently revealed that David Tennant will be returning in Season 2 as Jessica's mind-controlling abuser Kilgrave.

Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg told EW:

"In Season 1, we focused on Jessica's trauma, on Jessica facing her abuser, but in Season 2, we wanted to go even deeper than that. As you've seen in Season 1, she was somewhat of a mess even before Kilgrave came into her life, so it was really just about digging deeper into this chaos and peeling back those layers, just going to the core of her being. That was our objective."

In addition to Ritter and Tennant, "Jessica Jones" stars Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Leah Gibson, and J.R. Ramirez. The official trailer will be coming later, with the full season ready for streaming on March 8.
