"Westworld" and "S.W.A.T." are the latest shows to freeze all motor functions due to wildfires.
According to Variety, both TV shows film near Santa Clarita, California. That's where the "Rye Fire" blaze grew to 1,000 acres by the afternoon of Tuesday, Dec. 5, KABC news reported, with zero percent containment.
Obviously, safety trumps TV production, and both shows are hitting the pause button until it's OK to continue.
The writers of CBS's new show "S.W.A.T." tweeted this update:
Production of @swatcbs has been suspended for the day due to wildfires and unsafe air near our stages. Safety of cast and crew come first. Prayers to all affected by these fires.

"Westworld" Season 2 is still filming for its premiere in spring 2018 on HBO. The cable network shared its own update on Tuesday (via Variety):
"Due to nearby wildfires, 'Westworld' stopped production earlier today and will resume filming as soon as it's safe to do so."
In October, Netflix's "13 Reasons Why" Season 2 stopped filming for a few days due to wildfires ravaging Northern California.
"S.W.A.T." Season 1, starring Shemar Moore, continues with Episode 6, airing December 7 on CBS. "Westworld" Season 2 should still arrive this spring on HBO.
