If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow used to be roommates. Did you know? They were both on "The Tonight Show" Monday night, promoting different projects: Adam was there for his new movie "Pixels," and Judd for "Trainwreck" but also his new book, "Sick in the Head: Conversations About Life and Comedy." In the book, Judd said he only started making movies so he'd have a better shot of getting on "The Tonight Show." Congrats, man! At the end of the video, Adam took a moment to praise his ex-roommate as "the sweetest, nicest guy, most honest guy I know." He's happy for all of his success. Adam and Jimmy played the classic game "Lip Flip" and they both ended up doing Adam Sandler impressions -- with the real Adam making a racy joke about Jimmy's busted finger. Jimmy went first, and after his great Adam impression, Sandler retaliated by mouthing for Fallon, "I injured my hand whacking off! It was so much fun! Well, that's what I get for trying it with my left hand. Learned my lesson, back to old rightie!" Oh my! At the end, they sang a duet of "To All The Girls I've Loved Before." Charlize Theron was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," talking about shaving her head for "Mad Max" and sharing the story of what happened the last time she was there and President Obama was on the show. She has this thing where, when she gets nervous, she says something inappropriate. So, randomly, when they were backstage and there was a pause in the conversation, she told the president if he was looking for a different demographic she could take him to a strip club. (!) She couldn't sleep for a long time after that, just reliving that moment and wondering why in the world she said that. Just a guess, but he was probably charmed, and may have been tempted. Who wouldn't go anywhere and everywhere with Charlize Theron? "Jimmy Kimmel Live" had a fun game called "Say It or Spray It" combining crazy Donald Trump quotes with a water hose. James Corden recently did a fake-or-real Trump quotes game too, but they never get old. Christina Hendricks, Laverne Cox, and Cody Simpson were on "The Late Late Show with James Corden." James asked Laverne about Caitlyn Jenner's ESPYS speech -- which referenced the "Orange Is the New Black" star as a "trailblazer." Laverne shared how different her own transition was, as a working class black transgender woman in her 20s, out of the public eye. Laverne shared a little spoiler tease on Cait's upcoming E! show, which will show how much she goes through in trying to dodge the paparazzi. Christina Hendricks weighed in at the end of the video with a great "live and let live" attitude, not really understanding all the fuss, since of course we should all be comfortable and happy in our own skin. Vanessa Bayer was on "Late Night with Seth Meyers" and she and Seth agreed that it's upsetting how good LeBron James is in "Trainwreck," since he's already great at too much. Vanessa and LeBron did some Ohio bonding and her dad got to meet him, so now she feels like they're part of the same family. Seth also shared the story of trying to give another driver the finger this weekend but he has a weak middle finger. He also flashed his finger at the audience and told them it would be blurred because TV still censors the finger. "Everything our society is going through right now, television thinks that you can't handle this." True. Good point. "Like, I get you have to blur genitals. ... There has to be a line, and I think it's right before genitals." Haha. He's right!
