'Game of Thrones' Season 7: 'Strong & Steely' Sansa Is Now 'In It for Herself'

Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

Sansa Stark had the ultimate mic drop moment in "Game of Thrones" Season 6 when she got to end Ramsay Bolton, after her letter to Littlefinger brought the needed reinforcements to win the Battle of the Bastards. Even Jon Snow said she should be the lady of Winterfell. And then ... Jon was declared King in the North, after a spontaneous rally led by Lyanna Mormont. Great promotion for Jon, frustrating pass-over for Sansa.

Sophie Turner has been teasing up the Sansa/Jon dynamic as we approach Season 7. It stands to reason there might be some friction there, at least on her end, even without Littlefinger whispering in her ear (and you know he'll be trying to use this for himself).

"She definitely feels left out," Sophie Turner told Express. "There's a little bit of jealousy there. She feels like she deserves the title of Queen in the North. All she wants is the respect of her brother, and she feels like she's not getting that. Fair enough!

She's very strong and steely this season. She's in it for herself. Whether that means going a bit dark... you'll have to see."

"In it for herself"? Hmmm. That sounds more lone wolf than part of the pack. Hopefully she changes her mind on that. (Maybe with help from Arya?)

Turner had previously said Sansa might do some power trippin' in Season 7, and be even more of Dark Sansa. But would she go dark against Jon? Probably not. It's not even Jon's doing that he's king. Jon never even tries to be in power anywhere, he just gets assigned the top job everywhere he goes. #likeaboss And sometimes he gets stabbed to death by his own people, but whatever. That's what Melisandre is for.

"Game of Thrones" Season 7 premieres Sunday, July 16 at 9 p.m. on HBO.
