The newest show in the space franchise will debut on CBS on Sunday, September 24 at 8:30 p.m. ET (following football). The premiere and second episode will be able to stream on CBS All-Access after the broadcast. After that, episodes will be available exclusively on the streaming platform.

Each episode will be release once a week, just like "The Good Fight," rather than the all-at-once Netflix or Amazon model. The first eight episodes will stream this fall, while the second half of the season returns in January.

"Star Trek: Discovery" was initially expected to debut this past January as the first original CBS All-Access series, but it was delayed after the exit of co-creator Bryan Fuller.

The show is set a decade before the original 1966 "Star Trek" series, and features Sonequa Martin-Green as a First Officer on a starship. Michelle Yeoh and Jason Isaacs play starship captains
