If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
Oprah Winfrey was on "The Tonight Show" on Monday - it was her first time ever being on Jimmy Fallon's show - and she named-dropped and flattered, but that's just the Oprah way. She misses having a live audience. There was a time when she gave autographs and shook everyone's hand in her own audience, but she had to stop. In the second video, Oprah and Jimmy do a really long sketch about an '80s soap opera called "Midnight Meadows," featuring some odd vocal effects. The Auto-Tune version is best. Plus, Oprah gets to slap Jimmy multiple times.
Idina Menzel - aka Elsa from "Frozen," aka Adele Dazeem - was also on "The Tonight Show" and she shared her holiday traditions with her son:
The great Emily Blunt was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," talking about how she was on the jury at the Dubai Film Festival when she heard that she was nominated for a Golden Globe Award. She also talked about the fastest roller coaster in the world, which sounds scary-awesome. She said Tom Cruise would want to do it without safety harnesses, since he's such a badass.
Emily and her husband John Krasinski are good friends with Jimmy and his wife Molly - they are actually neighbors - and they have a tradition of playing Christmas pranks on each other, which is awesome. The second video shows the EPIC prank Jimmy pulled last year, gift wrapping John & Em's house. John & Em retailated by gift-wrapping Jimmy's entire car, courtesy of "Secret Santa." Even the inside of the car was filled with Christmas baubles! Then they did it again with carolers inside. Fantastic.
Lee Pace was also on JLK, chatting about "The Hobbit" movies and how his parents ended up being in the film:
Emma Stone was on "Late Show" with David Letterman and he decided to take a selfie with her right there during the interview. He got suuuuper cozy with her for an adorable photo, which was accompanied by music. Later, they took another one. Emma said they should take as many as possible. No complaints from Dave - except about how he looked in the pics. Oregon Ducks quarterback Marcus Mariota also shared the Top Ten thoughts that went through his mind when he won The Heisman Trophy:
Curtis Jackson, aka 50 Cent, was on "Late Night" with Seth Meyers, sharing a Public Service Announcement on how to say his name. He also tried to sell Seth on his newest product, $100 underwear.
Jon Hamm was on "The Late Late Show" with Craig Ferguson, which means this was the handsomest set of the night. They discussed the mayor of Reykjavik, Iceland, who was declared "awesome." Apparently he was a stand-up comedian and he wouldn't let anyone in his cabinet unless they had seen all five seasons of "The Wire." Excellent. Jon talked about how they filmed the final season of "Mad Men" last summer and now he needs a job. He wants to be an Alaskan mail carrier. Best reason to move to Alaska - put it in the PR campaign.
Tim Meadows was also on Craig's show, saying he'd been on there 42 times. He's a veteran, and he talked about how much he loves Craig. We're all going to miss Craig! He's almost gone. And he's one of the best. Can't they just move this exact show to an earlier time so it can build a bigger audience?
Lisa Kudrow was on "Conan," discussing the awkward nudity in her HBO show "The Comeback" (you have to watch the video for Conan's impression of himself watching men at the urinal) and how "Friends" is huge in China. Is that our way to negotiate down the debt - promise them a "Friends" reunion?
Eric Andre was also on "Conan" and he said he could do a better monologue than Conan, so he demonstrated:
