If you're like us and value your sleep, you probably nodded off into your Ambien dreamland before the party started on post-prime time TV. Don't worry; we've got you covered. Here's the best of what happened last night on late night.
Amy Adams played "Holiday Flip Cup" with Jimmy Fallon on "The Tonight Show" on Thursday, and ... she did her best. She's hosting "Saturday Night Live" this weekend, with One Direction as the musical guest, so hopefully Amy is better at hosting than playing drinking games. But her little "ack!" sound when things go wrong is pretty cute.
The amazing Nick Offerman, also a guest on "The Tonight Show," read a "shortened, more casual version" of ''Twas the Night Before Christmas." Love his Christmas sweater. Honestly.
Jimmy Kimmel - and yes he really wore that red Christmas suit - welcomed Mel Brooks, who didn't want to sit in the chair next to the desk. Mel stood and addressed the audience for a while, until Jimmy offered up his own chair. Mel also talked about Young Frankenstein and Frank Sinatra. Christine Baranski - gorgeous - followed Mel on JKL, saying it was like a frat party backstage since they were on their way to a hiatus. Christine is part of the huge "Into the Woods" cast and she talked about drinking with Meryl Streep and Tracey Ullman. She also apparently lived in a haunted house.
Uzo Aduba of "Orange Is the New Black" was on Seth Meyers's show - and talk about gorgeous. She looks so glam in real life. She was just nominated for a SAG and Golde Globe award. She had quit acting the day she got the role in OITNB, because she was so discouraged by not getting parts. About an hour after quitting she got a call that she was cast in OITNB ... but not in the role she auditioned for.
Christoph Waltz - who seems to be everywhere lately, which is not a bad thing - was also on "Late Night." He talked about the new Bond film. Rosie O'Donnell was on "Late Show" with David Letterman, talking about her latest stint on "The View," plus illegal wars and torture. She also described her heart attack. Dave had emergency surgery year years ago and they kind of compared experiences. Orlando Bloom was on "Conan" and Mr. O'Brien asked if there's any chance they might do another "Hobbit" movie. Orlando said there won't be another official movie, but he and Evangeline Lilly said they might do an Elf spinoff - and Tantric sex is involved. Conan: "You heard it here first, Orlando Bloom's saying there will be a Tantric sex, GoPro porno version of The Hobbit." Conan also pushed for a cameo in the porno.
If you can believe it, Craig Ferguson is hosting his last show tomorrow (Friday) with Jay Leno as guest. Thursday, he welcomed Jim Parsons and also introduced Josh Robert Thompson, the guy who voices Geoff Peterson the robot. Josh got a standing O!
Craig told Jim Parsons he wanted Kurt Vonnegut as a guest and never got him. Jim was asked to imagine having his own show; he said his first guest would be Rihanna. They've been working on an animated movie together and they got along really well. Craig joked that the Internet now has them dating. Haha.
