Hollywood, here the zombies come!
TV Line reports that Los Angeles will be the setting for AMC's upcoming "Walking Dead" spinoff, which will shoot a pilot in the next few months. When the companion series was announced last September, the network revealed it would take viewers to a new locale. "It's a big world and we can't wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse," said AMC president Charlie Collier at the time.
Descriptions of the six main characters have already been released, and several actors are on board, including Cliff Curtis as the male lead. Rumors say that the spinoff is set right after the start of the epidemic, when people are still working to contain it.
As far as a crossover between the two series, it's possible - but don't hold your breath. As "Walking Dead" showrunner Scott M. Gimple told Collider, "A crossover might be tough because it would take a lot of [license] within the comic story. We'll see."
