The New '22 Jump Street' Red Band Trailer Will Make Your Day Better (VIDEO)

One of last year's biggest and best surprises was "21 Jump Street," a comedic reimaging of the beloved '80s cop series that starred Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as undercover cops sent back to high school to bust a deadly drug ring. The movie was wickedly funny, slyly subversive, and incredibly well directed (by animation vets Phil Lord and Chris Miller), all of which makes next year's "22 Jump Street" one of our most anticipated movies of the year. Especially after watching the red band trailer for the film.

The set-up for "22 Jump Street" seems to be similar to the first film, maybe a little too similar, with Tatum and Hill enrolling in a local college in order to crack another drug ring. Still, there are plenty of laughs to be had in the trailer, particularly when it comes to Hill and Tatum's acclimation to 2013-era college life, like coed bathrooms, plus jokes like Tatum saying, "Do we look older or does everyone else look like babies?" Also the Rob Riggle cameo at the end had us dying.

It looks crazy and inventive and fun, we just hope that Lord and Miller and the rest of the creative team can come up with something just as unexpected and delightful as the original. It's no easy feat, but we have faith that they can pull it off. Also, we love that they borrowed a shot from "Bad Boys II." Yes please.

"22 Jump Street" (the Koreans re-bought the church where the first movie took place) opens on June 13, 2014.
