'Hot Tub Time Machine 2' Heating Up for 2014 Release

Anyone who occasionally whispers "Great white buffalo" to themselves on a regular basis will be happy to know that the "Hot Tub Time Machine" sequel will be traveling to theaters in 2014.

"Hot Tub Time Machine 2" stars Adam Scott, along with the first movie's stars Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, and Clark Duke. Screenwriter Josh Heald and director Steve Pink also returned for duties, which is always a good sign for fans.

Earlier this year, we heard reports that MGM was tentatively talking to the stars about a sequel. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "The pieces have slowly been coming together for the past several months and sources caution that deal-making is in an early stage and could fail. However, insiders also say that if a deal makes, production would be fast-tracked." And sure enough, production kicked off in June down in New Orleans.

John Cusack isn't in the sequel, but we're hoping that Scott's presence will up the adorable factor of the movie by about 500 percent. No offense, John, but Scott's Ben Wyatt has made "Parks and Rec" fans fall deeply in love with him and his calzones.

"HTTM" didn't do too well at the box office but found a second life on DVD, so it will be interesting to see how Paramount handles the movie's marketing and release. Will the movie's fan base rouse themselves from their cozy home theaters to make it out for opening weekend? "Great white buffaloooooo...."
