The 'Amazing Spider-Man 2' International Trailer Serves Up New Footage (VIDEO)

The international trailer for "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" offers fans some new footage of everyone's favorite web-slinger, along with some comic relief.

In contrast with the action-packed first teaser trailer, the international clip takes a lighter tone from the get-go.

"You know what it is I love about being Spider-Man?" a high-flying Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) asks. "Everything."

A scene between Peter and Aunt May (Sally Field) adds some light (and, if we're being honest, kind of lame) comedy, where his attempts to prevent his aunt from entering his room lead to a confused exchange about why his sullied-while-fighting-crime face is so dirty. ("I was cleaning the chimney," he explains lamely.) Later, Spidey sticks Gwen (Emma Stone) to one of his webs to prevent her from following him into a fight, calling out "Sorry! Love you!" over his shoulder while she loudly protests.

Returning from the first trailer are glimpses of the film's many villains, including Rhino (Paul Giamatti), Electro (Jamie Foxx), and the Green Goblin (either Dane DeHaan or Chris Cooper, depending on what direction Marc Webb plans to take the character). Here's hoping they get beefed-up parts in the next trailer.

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" slings into theaters May 2, 2014.
