'True Detective' Auditioning Pretty Much Every Actress in Hollywood

Nomination Announcement For 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards"True Detective" has a woman problem.

Creator Nic Pizzolatto is still searching for "the one" - an actress for the lead role in season 2 of the acclaimed HBO drama. The Wrap reports that he's auditioning seven actresses this week.

They are: Malin Akerman, Jaimie Alexander ("Thor"), Jessica Biel, Oona Chaplin ("Game of Thrones"), Rosario Dawson, Brit Marling ("Another Earth"), and Kelly Reilly ("Sherlock Holmes").

Add those names to previously rumored contenders Elisabeth Moss and Rachel McAdams, and you basically have every young actress in Hollywood.

It's quite a diverse list of women who boast a range of acting styles and looks, all looking to play Ani Bezzerides, a "tough, no-nonsense Monterey sheriff whose troubled upbringing has driven her to gambling and alcohol."

Whoever wins the "True Detective" lottery may appear alongside Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, and Taylor Kitsch, who are all rumored for the male roles.

Pizzolatto has to hurry up and make a decision soon, though; filming should begin shortly. And in the real world, time is not a flat circle.
