From "The Wire" to "Game of Thrones," Aidan Gillen is no stranger to playing shady, manipulative characters. Now he's taking his act to the big screen with a role in "Maze Runner: Scorch Trials," the sequel to "The Maze Runner."
`
Aidan Gillen will be joining the dystopian party as Janson, AKA Rat-Face, who is a big cheese in an organization known as W.I.C.K.E.D., the World In Catastrophe Killzone Experiment Department. Sounds promising! It appears that the trials and tribulations of Thomas (Dylan O'Brien) and his fellow maze-running survivors are far from over, and Janson and his ilk have plenty to do with that. Janson is the main antagonist in "Scorch Trials" and "The Death Cure," although in the books his part in "Scorch Trials" is fairly minor compared to "The Death Cure." Ah, well. We'll always have Westeros!
"Scorch Trials" is slated to go into production at the end of October, with a planned release date of September 18, 2015. Director Wes Ball is returning for the sequel. "The Maze Runner" is still holding fast at the box office.
