George Clooney is set to add another trophy to his already-full shelf: The Cecil B. DeMille Award.

Clooney will receive the award at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards ceremony, set for January. The annual honor is bestowed upon "an individual of demonstrated outstanding achievement in film and television entertainment," according to the official announcement from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hands out the Globes each year.

"Actor, writer, producer, director, activist, practical joker and former Sexiest Man Alive, the 2015 Cecil B. DeMille Golden Globe Award recipient, George Clooney, is someone who cannot be pigeonholed," the announcement said. " ... The charming, self-deprecating actor has been nominated for a staggering thirteen Golden Globe awards during his three-decade career."

The release also noted that Clooney was "equally talented behind the camera" and "a gifted filmmaker," making him a fitting recipient of the award, named for legendary director Cecil B. DeMille ("The Ten Commandments," "The Greatest Show on Earth").

Clooney will accept the statuette during the 72nd annual Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, which will take place on January 11, 2015.
