David Letterman and Seth Meyers are on repeats this week, but Jimmy Fallon is still keeping the holiday spirit alive. On Tuesday night, he and Reese Witherspoon sang "Random Phrase Carols," where classic holiday song lyrics were replaced by random words. For example, "Jingle Bells" became "Small Old Man." (Now "Small old man, small old man, small old man named Tom..." is in our heads forever.) Reese didn't quite nail her solo song, but then she and Jimmy did a little duet. The whole thing was pretty random, but after hearing the same Christmas carols a thousand times a year it's nice to have new lyrics.
Anyway, Reese was really there to promote her new movie "Wild," which is earning her more Oscar buzz. She talks about the film in the second video. It's based on a true story of a woman who walked 1,000 miles on her own over 94 days. Reese said she's not a big camper. She went backpacking once when she was in seventh grade. She got Larry Underwood to carry her backpack for her because she promised she'd kiss him behind the tents. Classic Larry! Jimmy also Slow Jammed The News, with help from Brian Williams and The Roots. They gave the immigration news a good jam. THIS is good. This is what Jimmy should've had Reese Witherspoon do. Ethan Hawke is now 44, if you can believe it, and he talked to Jimmy Kimmel about how he needs glasses now. "I look just like my dad." Ethan said his wife thinks he looks like a serial killer in the glasses. Ethan put them on and the crowd cheered. Jimmy said he looks like Clark Kent. (He actually has a bit of a Gary Oldman vibe with the glasses on, no?) Jimmy also said Ethan hasn't really aged in the past 12 years, as shown in his movie "Boyhood." That movie just won some film critics awards, and Ethan said they never dreamed at the start - 12 years ago - that this is how it would turn out. Making the movie was fun, but releasing and promoting it feels like a job.
Timothy Spall (still best known to many as Peter Pettigrew in the Harry Potter series) just won a film critics award and best actor at Cannes for his lead role in Mike Leigh's new movie "Mr. Turner." It was a complete surprise to him. The movie hasn't even come out yet, and Timothy joked to Jimmy Kimmel that the film doesn't actually exist at all. He told the whole Cannes story to Jimmy. His accent is great but it's a wee bit hard to follow at times.

Craig Ferguson is almost done with "The Late Late Show" (sniff) so celebs are starting to come on just to say goodbye. Henry Winkler - The Fonz himself - said he's been on the show 23 times, and each time he's been made so welcome. He wished Craig well in whatever he does next, but added "don't call me." Ha! They hugged. How are we going to live without Craig's socks?
Ariel Tweto of "Flying Wild Alaska," was on "The Late Late Show" to thank Craig Ferguson for how much help he's been. She visited Craig's family for Thanksgiving. He said she was drunk, she said she was just lost in the house after playing "Never Have I Ever." In the second video Ariel and Craig attempt to have an awkward silence, but they can't do it.
Marc Maron and Kellan Lutz were both on "Conan." Comedian Marc talked about his last relationship, which was long distance. He discussed having sex on Skype. Conan O'Brien didn't believe you could do it, but Marc gave some tips. "Stay focused and don't look at the little box in the corner. That's the trick." Kellan talked about "The Expendables 3" and said he sorta photobombed Sylvester Stallone in the cast's Vanity Fair shoot.
