Is Quentin Tarantino Still Making 'The Hateful Eight'?

The Internet is slightly buzzing with a rumor that Quentin Tarantino might not have entirely thrown in the towel on "The Hateful Eight." If you'll recall, QT announced on January 22 that his script had been leaked and he was planning on shelving the project for the time being. As he told Deadline, "I could totally change my mind; I own the f***ing thing. But I can tell you, it's not going to be the next thing I do. It's my baby, and if the muse calls me later to do it, we'll do it. I was thinking about the idea of maybe publishing it before I made it, but now that deal happens for sure, and I'm not doing it next."

However, industry scooper Jeff Sneider at The Wrap let it be known over the weekend that he'd heard things were back in motion for "The Hateful Eight." (After all, it is Tarantino's " f***ing thing.")

While these are just industry rumors, it's not hard to imagine Tarantino (understandably!) blowing his top over the leak of an early working draft, only to change his mind after cooling down and thinking it over. Fans would be psyched to see "The Hateful Eight" up next, especially with Bruce Dern riding high after "Nebraska."

Screenwriter Brian Koppelman wrote an interesting piece for Grantland about the leak that puts Tarantino's reaction into perspective.

There's no word on Tarantino's lawsuit against Gawker for linking to the leaked script.
