Amy Poehler Surrenders in Prank War With George Clooney

In addition to being an actor-director-writer-producer big-shot Hollywood heartthrob, George Clooney has earned a reputation as a legendary prankster, pulling the wool over on famous friends including Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Meryl Streep, and Bill Murray. So when Clooney was on the receiving end of Golden Globes hosts Tina Fey and Amy Poehler's excellent zing about his role in "Gravity," it was only a matter of time before the actor sought his revenge.

Now, Poehler has confirmed that Clooney has indeed been trying to one-up the comediennes -- and she wants to put an end to it. During an appearance on the debut of "Late Night With Seth Meyers" Monday night, Poehler told the host that she and Fey have already been targeted by a Clooney prank -- involving fellow Globes zinger victim Matt Damon -- and she's ready to concede.

"I just want to use your show to wave the white flag, and tell Clooney I surrender," Poehler told Meyers, adding that the actor is a "master prankster." "And I want to say something to George Clooney that no woman has ever said to him, which is: George, please stop."

Though we're sad to see the merry prank war cease fire, it's probably in Poehler's best interest to bow out now. After all, Clooney has admitted to letting certain pranks play out over a series of years, so there's no telling how long he would have spent torturing Fey and Poehler. Though we can't help but wonder if the comedic duo have another acerbic joke just waiting to pounce when they host the Globes again in 2015. Our fingers are crossed.
