The comedian, who starred in the first two installments of the series in the early '90s, took to Twitter Monday to express his confusion about the project, which reports indicated he was definitely returning for.

Then again, filmmakers may be working behind the scenes to gauge studio interest and get a story in place before approaching the cast, especially since securing a green light from the studio most likely hinges upon those original stars' return.
Stay tuned to see if this franchise actually becomes a trilogy.
