Think you know the story of Dracula? Think again.
No, really -- if you know all about the real Vlad Tepes and his predilection for impaling his enemies, or if you've read Bram Stoker's novel "Dracula," well ... "Dracula Untold" bears only a faint resemblance to either tale.
A new trailer for "Dracula Untold," directed by Gary Shore, outlines a very different story. In this reimagining, Vlad (Luke Evans) is just a loving family man who turns to the dark side to save his wife, son, and people from Turkish invaders.
So, he goes toTywin Lannister some old vampiric dude in a cave (played by "Game of Thrones" star Charles Dance) for help. "I want the power to destroy my enemies and save my family," Vlad says. But he gets more than he bargained for, as is usually the case when men make deals with the devil.
"Dracula: Untold" opens in theaters Oct. 17.
