'Community' Will Not Get a Hulu Revival

2011 Winter TCA Tour - Day 9

Six seasons and a movie may remain just an unattainable dream for "Community" fans.

The cult fave comedy was canceled this spring by NBC after five, low-rated seasons, but there was some hope that Hulu might pick it up. But TV Line reports that the online streaming service has "abandoned talks" with the show's producers, Sony Pictures Television.

It's a major blow to hopes for a sixth season. "Community" fans adopted the mantra "six seasons and a movie" as a rallying cry to save the show as it teetered on the edge. But all is not lost ... yet. Perhaps another network or streaming service will step in to save the day.

"Sony does not give up easily," a source told TV Line. "A lot can happen in one week."

We haven't entered the darkest timeline yet, people.
