After Captain Hammer himself hinted at the possibility earlier this year, it's now been confirmed: Nathan Fillion will have a small cameo in "Guardians of the Galaxy."
"Guardians" director James Gunn delivered the news to his Twitter followers over the weekend, answering a fan query about the likelihood of Fillion appearing in the upcoming Marvel flick.
That's good news for Fillion fans, who had suspected for some time that the actor would pop up in "Guardians," thanks to his longtime working relationship with Gunn on films like "Slither" and "Super." Fillion made coy reference to the possibility of a "Guardians" cameo back in April, when he not-so-subtly told an inquiring fan, "Maybe you'll be surprised. Maybe. Check the credits."
We're excited to see Fillion return to his space roots (RIP, "Firefly"), and eager to see how he jells with the rest of the "Guardians" cast. EW has a rundown of possible parts the actor could play; we're thinking he'll probably pop up somewhere unexpected in the background.
Be on the lookout for Fillion when "Guardians of the Galaxy" -- which also stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Dave Batista, and Karen Gillan -- hits theaters on August 1.

"@STARS_TyranT: Are the rumours true that he has some part in the film?" @nathanfillion has a very small fun cameo he did as a favor to me.
