Moviefone's Top DVD of the Week

"Masters of Sex: Season One"

What's It About? Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan star in this Showtime series about sex researchers Dr. William Masters and Virginia Johnson.

Why We're IN: There's a fair amount of onscreen sexiness, but the nuanced look at humanity and sexuality is what has made this a must-see cable drama.

Moviefone's Top Blu-ray of the Week

"A Hard Day's Night (Criterion)"

What's It About? This movie musical stars the Beatles as goofier versions of themselves, just as they're becoming the legendary band we all know and love.

Why We're IN: Fancy digital restoration, fancy audio updates, interviews, a making-of doc, and more make this a must-have for fans of the Beatles or musicals or anything that's fun and cool.

New on DVD & Blu-ray

"300: Rise of An Empire"

What's It About? Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel, this sequel follows the bloody adventures of Greek general Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton), self-proclaimed God King Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Persian army commander (commandtrix?) Artemesia (Eva Green).

WATCH: Go in-depth with the special FX of "300" & learn about the creation of Xerxes (VIDEO)

"Blood Ties"

What's It About? Actor/director Guillaume Canet takes a crack at the NYC crime drama with this retro take on two brothers on opposite sides of the law. Can fresh ex-con Chris (Clive Owen) go straight and become a family man with his ex-wife Monica (Marion Cotillard) after years of being crooked, or will he betray his brother Frank (Billy Crudup)? Matthias Schoenaerts ("Bullhead," "Rust and Bone"), Zoe Saldana, James Caan, and Mila Kunis co-star.

IN or OUT: Skip this tired take on the '70s crime thriller.

"Enemy"

What's It About? Jake Gyllenhaal does double duty as a dude and his doppelganger. Mélanie Laurent and Sarah Gadon co-star as the confused significant others of Adam (the mild-mannered one) and Anthony (the bad seed).

IN or OUT: Denis Villeneuve's woozy thriller got plenty of kudos from critics.

"Repentance"

What's It About? Anthony Mackie stars as a self-help guru with a troubled past who offers his life-coaching services to a grieving man named Angel (Forest Whitaker). Angel, who's obsessed with the death of his mother, takes the idea of karma and retribution to some ugly, ugly places.

IN or OUT: This didn't make a ripple in theaters, despite the talented leading men. Might wanna pass on this grisly flick.

"Rob the Mob"

What's It About? Michael Pitt and Nina Arianda star as Thomas and Rose Marie Uva, a wanna-be Bonnie and Clyde couple that schemed to rip off Mafia clubs around NYC until their untimely demise. It's a funny, human take on an all-too-true tale on the Mafia and murder.

IN or OUT: Director Raymond De Felitta has been making movies about NYC for years, with varied success. This one was right on the money for critics.

"Some Velvet Morning"

What's It About? Writer/director Neil LaBute returns to form with this drama about old lovers who just won't let go. Fred (Stanley Tucci) appears on the doorstep of his former mistress Velvet (Alice Eve), after four years apart. He's finally left his wife and is ready to resume their relationship, but things are a little more complicated than that.

IN or OUT: If you dig LaBute's dark take on love and lust, you just might be in.

"Winter's Tale"

What's It About? Colin Farrell, Russell Crowe, and Jessica Brown Findlay ("Downton Abbey") star in this adaptation of Mark Helprin's beloved novel about time-traveling lovers.

WATCH: Colin Farrell has some horse trouble in a behind-the-scenes peak at "Winter's Tale" (VIDEO)

"Witches of East End: The Complete First Season"

What's It About? This Lifetime show is a soapy take on the whole supernatural drama craze. Freya Beauchamp (Dewan Tatum) and her sister Ingrid (Rachel Boston) discover their mom Joanna (Julia Ormond) is a witch... And guess what? So are they! Joanna and their auntie Wendy (Madchen Amick) help them figure out what's what, and how to keep their town of East End from going to the dogs. (Or the warlocks. Whichever.)

IN or OUT: If you're in the mood for a guilty pleasure that's a little less R-rated than "True Blood," hop on.

New to Blu-ray

"Orphan Black: Season Two"

What's It About? The amazing Tatiana Maslany continues to blow minds with her performances as clones with different accents, mannerisms, styles, and personalities. The plot thickens as the clones decide to deal with the Dyad Corporation in different ways. Meanwhile, Sarah's trying to figure out where they all come from, and what her adoptive mother Mrs. S (Maria Doyle Kennedy) has to do with it all. Jordan Gavaris continues to steal scenes as Sarah's adopted brother Felix.

IN or OUT: If you're in the #cloneclub, you know what to do.
